David Schuman is the founder and president of Schuman Enterprises/NUC Sports, a national high school football camp series. Schuman runs the largest high school football combine and recruitment showcase in the country, The National Underclassmen Combine, and has trained over 30,000 athletes in the US. Formerly, he was the head football coach at Palisades Park/Leonia High School where he led them to two straight playoff appearances and orchestrated the first Co-Op program in history to make the state championship in 2012. He is currently the head football coach at Indian Hills High School in Oakland, NJ.

History

Schuman was an elite high school football player for Saddle Brook High School in New Jersey, named 1st Team All American as a running back by Bigger Faster Stronger magazine, as well as 3rd All State in New Jersey.

  After high school, he earned a full athletic scholarship to the University of Connecticut, where he was a starting linebacker. Schuman received a bachelor's and master's degree from the university, as well as the Kendall Madison Award for top student athlete.

After graduating, he spent some time working as a business analyst before opening Schuman's Training School. In 2004, he started Ultimate 100 Camp, a hand-picked football training camp for elite high school players.

Football Player

Schuman was a top high school football player at Saddle Brook High School named 1st Team All American as a running back by Bigger Faster Stronger magazine, as well as 3rd All State in New Jersey.. Schuman rushed for 2802 yards in his high school career scoring 23 career touchdowns. Had 325 tackles on defense in his high school career and over 4000 all purpose yards.

After high school, he earned a full athletic scholarship to the University of Connecticut, where he was a starting linebacker. Schuman received a bachelor's and master's degree from the university, as well as the Kendall Madison Award for top student athlete. At UCONN, Schuman started 14 games and appeared 33 games in his career as a fullback in 1993 and as an outside linebacker in 1995 and 1996. He received three letters and was named to CPIA Student Athlete honor roll and pre-season academic all conference under Skip Holtz.

Football Coaching Career

Schuman orchestrated the first Co-op high school football program in history in 2012 to make the state championship at Palisade Park High School. He has coached for 16 years with assistant positions with River Dell, Old Tappan, and Saddle Brook and 10 of those years as Head Coach. He has served as a head coach of Saddle Brook, Palisades Park and Indian Hills high school. He has coached in six playoff appearances and three state championships winning one as an assistant with River Dell under DJ Nimphius.

NUC Sports

Schuman started NUC Sports after running the National Underclassmen Football combine in 2005 which had NFL stars like Tyrod Taylor and Joe Haden in the first event. The event grew to over 10,000 athletes per year and over 50 events by 2008 becoming the largest set of football events in the USA, designed to help football player exposure for recruiting. By 2012 the National Underclassmen Combines had grown into NUC Sports covering combines, showcases, all star games, 7v7 and camps all designed to help develop athletes. It had become the largest program serving over 20,000 athletes a year. The alumni of the events currently include over 300 NFL players including Heisman Trophy winners Marcus Mariota, Johnny Manziel and Derek Henry.

David has been an NFLPA Certified Agent since 2014, He has represented 15 players that were on NFL teams, with 9 of his players signing NFL contracts. He has unique relationships at the NFL level that stem from his over 15 years in coaching football and operated the NUC Sports events. He has tremendous relationship both with NFL teams and in the endorsement/sponsorship space where he has relationships with over 100 businesses that focus on serving football. Over 300 current NFL players have come through his programs at NUC Sports. David has an BS in Finance and an MBA from the University of Connecticut where he was also a starting linebacker and 3x letterman.

A former High School First Team All-American, Dave earned a full football athletic scholarship at University of Connecticut where he was a starting linebacker under head coach Skip Holtz. A success on and off the field, Coach Schuman was a Dean's List student-athlete who earned both a Bachelors and Master's degree at UConn. After receiving his Master degree, David worked as a strategic business analyst for a top technology solutions company. He later moved to New York City to become Senior Vice President for an internet strategy and web development company. He was one of the fastest rising young executives during the internet boom of the late 90's.

September 11, 2001 was the day that changed Dave's goals and dreams. Dave's largest client Cantor Fitzgerald was devastated during the tragic event. The loss of many colleagues and his desire to help people accomplish their dreams brought Dave back to football. He soon became head coach at Saddle Brook High School in his hometown of Saddle Brook, New Jersey. A skilled multi-tasker, Coach Schuman also enrolled at Columbia University for a second Master's Degree at Columbia's prestigious teaching college before opening his own business, Schuman's Speed School, where he trained some of the country's top high school, college and professional athletes. Dave wanted to provide talented high school football players from all socioeconomic backgrounds, from inner cities to suburbs, all across the country the opportunity to showcase their skills without bias and to provide them early exposure to top colleges. As a result of this vision, Schuman's National Underclassmen Combine was born and currently thrives as NUC Sports.

Dave has been the CEO of NUC Sports for over a decade. NUC Sports runs the largest football evaluation set of events in the USA.
